Superstitions, oh no!!!

For ages, superstitions have surrounded the black cat. Not just in India but this is a popular belief in the west too, a black cat crossing the road is a bad omen.

This superstition came from the Egyptians who believed that black cats were evil creatures and they brought bad luck. In India, black color is generally associated with Lord Shani. It is said that if a black cat is crossing your road, then you should let somebody else pass before you do. This way, the first person will have all the bad luck and you won’t, how cheap!!

We human beings have made a hell out of ridiculous superstitions. The cat simply walks its way and we make a fuss out of it. A black cat crossing your road simply means that the animal is going somewhere and that is all. Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill. Get out of superstitious beliefs and live freely, respect animals, they have been in existence on this planet when human beings were still to come.

As human beings, we all have a greater responsibility towards animals. Let us not be so ignorant or stupid that we start condemning these innocent angels in the name of religious superstitious beliefs. If a black cat is crossing the road, left to right or right to left, in the night time or during the day, simply means it is going on it’s business and since it does not concern you, it is none of your business!!
