The light golden Ardbeg is revered around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, most complex single malt of them all.
You get an intense smoky fruit fragrance as soon as you open the bottle. There are notes of peat infused with lemon and a hint of black pepper and a little pineapple in the background.
It’s a full-bodied malt with a bit of lemony and coal tar taste. Bursts of sizzling cinnamon with warm hazelnut and almond toffee play around your palate.
There are various explosions happening in your mouth along with peat effervesces and tangy lemon. Smoke gradually wells up on the palate bringing a mouthful of warm cappuccino. As the taste deepens, dry espresso and tarry smoke develop coating the palate with peat oils.
The finish is great and a long one though. Notes of smoky espresso, toasted almonds, and traces of soft barley leave you asking for more!!!
A malt worth tasting!! Believe me, you will fall in love!!! Cheers!!!
